Butterfly Photography Print: Green Bokeh Nature Artwork, San Diego Wildlife Matted Art Print
Bring the delicate, fleeting beauty of a California garden into your home with this original fine art photography print.
This serene vignette features a striking butterfly perched with precision on a single blade of grass, set against a masterfully captured green and black bokeh background. In photography, bokeh refers to the intentional aesthetic blur behind the object in focus.
Shot on film in San Diego, California, this piece by artist Meana Kasi is a testament to the patience required in wildlife photography—waiting for that split-second moment where focus and nature align perfectly.
As a signature piece in the "Floral & Butterflies" collection, this print celebrates the intentional aesthetic blur that brings the natural world into sharp, beautiful focus. Its vibrant tones and minimalist composition make it a thoughtful gift for any nature lover or a sophisticated addition to a modern botanical gallery wall.
Image story:
Back when I was shooting film, this is one of the first photos I was truly proud of. It remains a personal favorite. With nature and wildlife, it's difficult to predict and plan a shot but I patiently waited with camera in focus hoping that the butterfly I was tracking would once again land on this blade for me to capture this shot. I had one split second to get the focus just right to produce that beautiful bokeh. Shot on film in 2001.
