Image story: In 2014, I stayed at a beautiful Airbnb in Ben Lomond, California. Its gardens were alive with the hum of these incredible creatures. It took a few tries, but I finally got that perfect split-second timing right where the light hit through the flutter of the wings. I love how the dark background isolates the hummingbird, turning a garden visitor into a dramatic, almost ethereal subject.
